Digital retinal photography provides a high-definition view of your retina, optic nerve and all of the blood vessels of the retina. The image can be zoomed for even closer inspection, and manipulated in various ways to show details that cannot be seen by using conventional methods. It also allows the doctor to study the retina as a whole rather than in several smaller views.
Digital retinal photography is recommended for all our patients. A baseline should be established to keep as a permanent photographic reference of your eye health. We can review it and use it as a comparison when you come back on your next eye exam.
